Jesus refers to Himself as the bright and morning star. The ancient, Old Testament book of Numbers, when referring to Israel‘s Messiah, calls Him ―the star out of Jacob (Numbers 24:17) referring to the Hebrew ancestry of King David.

When I think of the bright and morning star, it reminds me of those cold November mornings in the deer stand while waiting for the first glimmer of light and hopefully a shot at a trophy. Even before the sun would begin its faint glow on the horizon, the morning star would shine brightly in the sky to signal the dawn of a new day.

Fitting is it not that some of Christ‘s last words to His church would be words describing Himself as the dawn of a new day! Have a day blessed beyond measure my dear friends!
