Vernon Grounds writes...

"A friend told me of an incident that happened while he was in seminary. Since the school had no gymnasium, he and his friends played basketball in a nearby public school. Nearby, an elderly janitor waited patiently until they finished playing. Invariably he sat there reading his Bible. One day my friend asked him what he was reading. The man answered, 'The book of Revelation.' Surprised, my friend asked if he understood it. 'Oh yes,' the man assured him. 'I understand it!' What does it mean?' Quietly the janitor answered, 'It means that Jesus is gonna win.' Grounds concludes, "That's the best commentary I have ever heard on that book. Jesus is going to win."

The book of Revelation is a book about winning...My sister-in-law Terri, asked me what I thought the main theme/subject of the book of Revelation was. "What‘s it all about?" Although troubling at times with its apocalyptic figures, terrifying creatures, and mind-boggling judgments, I told her that it‘s really a book about hope. Hope would be the one word that I would use to summarize the book of Revelation.

You see, not only does it give us the horrific future of a world that has forgotten or ignored God, but it also takes us into a brand new world in which man will once again live in harmony with all of creation and with the Creator. As the janitor concluded, so do I – Jesus is going to win, and so are we if we belong to Him!

We have that hope! ❤
