We live in a materialistic society where a man or woman's real worth is not measured by the "content of their character" as Dr. King would say but by their material possessions and the things they've accumulated through their own ingenuity, hard work and drive to succeed in this life (as brief as it is)...

We place our faith and hope for our future and that of our loved ones in the temporal "necessities" of life and in the things we "treasure" in our fleeting existence on this earth... I've learned and continue to have my eyes opened to the greatest truth of all about the "things" we so long to boast about...

Practicality teaches and so does the Word of God that if everything we see, feel, experience and possess in this life is dying and decaying, only to be burned in the end, then why don't we with hallowed and consecrated hearts lay up our treasures in Heaven where home for the heart springs eternal???
