Simply…That’s up to you AND to God. It’s not God’s will that ANYONE should go to hell… “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” [KJV] In fact, He is desperately “longsuffering” so that none of us would spend eternity in hell. After all, hell wasn’t created for man but for despicably unholy angels “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” (ESV)

In the final analysis, as we’ve already seen, God and God alone determines at which point a person’s name is removed from the Book of Life, but for most of us His decision will come as a result of a choice we consciously make. It will depend upon our willingness to either accept or reject His gift...the free offer of salvation/deliverance that can only be found in the Person of His Son Jesus, whose birth we celebrate every Christmas…At that point, and only God knows if /when we make that honest, life-changing decision, will our eternal fate be determined.

In a sense, (for my predestinarian friends out there), God chose ALL of us from the foundation of the world to be saved [Revelation 13:8] but has ALSO made provision for our own free will… “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” [Romans 10:9] Those who confess Christ are SAVED and their names STAY in the Book of Life and those who don't, are LOST...have their names REMOVED and are hopelessly headed to an eternal hell!

So...Is your name written in the Book of Life?...YES, absolutely! Will it stay there?...That's up to you!

One final note…Babies…as representative of those who make up the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 19:14), those who have never heard and been allowed to respond to the gospel, and those with a mental capacity that will not allow them to make a conscious, rational decision to accept or reject Christ will have their eternal home determined by the One who created and loves them more than they’ll ever know or we ever could…God the Father! And we know that He will judge in both "truth and righteousness"! (Revelation 16:7)
